Even Before I Call

Yesterday, our family spent much of the day in prayer, very much aware that the Lord was listening and moving on our behalf. Last night as our church gathered for our usual prayer meeting, we were on our knees praying, when my phone vibrated. Since we were in prayer, I didn't answer it. Little did I know that as we were praying, Dr. Woo was trying to call us with good news. I tried to return the missed call on the way home from church, but was unsuccessful. When we arrived home, we saw that the number belonged to our Dr., and he had left a message on our home phone...

"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." Isaiah 65:24"

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together." Psalm 34:1,3

Thank you so much for your generosity and persistence in prayer for our Santi. We had a returned phone call from Dr. Woo this evening and he was excited to tell us of his meeting with the CEO of Shands Hospital. Dr. Woo had written an appeal in September and was finally granted this meeting. He asked if the hospital would do Santi's surgery as a teaching case (this would mean minimal financial obligation for us). He stated that he was shocked to see how "surprisingly easy he was to convince" of Santi's need for this surgery! We know it is the prayer of the saints on his behalf.

Now the hospital's CEO will meet with the CEO of the Physician's Group. Dr. Woo felt confident that this would go well also.

Please continue to be in prayer with us as tomorrow, I am expecting a call about an interview with Shands Hospital. This interview will set things in motion. We also realize that though the surgeries may be cost-free to us because of the hospital's decision, other costs will ensue such as the ambulance ride home for Santi after he is placed in the halo, hospital bed rental, medications for pain, etc.

Time frame? Due to the Christmas holidays, we are looking at the possibility of the halo placement in early January.

God bless you all for your love and support.

Wednesday Meeting

Tomorrow, November 28th, is an important meeting day for Dr. Woo and we are asking that you all join us in prayer. The Hurons will be devoting the day for fasting and prayer about the matter.

Dr. Woo is meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of Shands Hospital as he would like to personally present Santi's profile and case history and appeal to have the surgery be taken on as a teaching case. If the CEO agrees and consents to Dr. Woo's appeal, this surgery will cost us nothing. We don't know the time of the meeting. He must also meet with the CEO of the Physician Group, but if Shands says "yes", the physicians will also likely agree.

It is a very exciting proposition and so amazing to think that all expenses for the traction/halo surgery and the spinal fusion surgery following, would be provided in full.

Please pray with us.....

"...he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God."
